Q. WHAT IS STRESSED SKIN?
A. Stressed skin can appear in a handful of ways - from breakouts to inflammation to signs of premature aging such as fine lines and wrinkles, dull skin etc. This happens when your skin is acting out of balance and not behaving the way healthy, properly treated and properly cared for skin should. When your skin is properly cared for it's firm, healthy and glowing with a luminous, even skin tone.
Q. HOW DO YOU DETERMINE IF YOUR CLIENT'S SKIN IS STRESSED OUT?
A. I speak to all my clients about their lifestyle habits, which is a great indicator to the root cause of their skins current condition. We then discuss their current skin care regimen and make sure the akin is being cared for and protected properly at home. Mental and environmental stressors will always weak havoc in and on your skin, which is why it is so important to talk to a professional about your skincare routine so they can help you incorporate the right products with the right ingredients for your skin specifically in order to maintain healthy, radiant skin.
Q. WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF STRESSED SKIN?
A. Dullness, dehydration, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, inflammation and redness are the most obvious signs that someone's skin is stressed. It's very important to pick up on these cues because this is your body signing that something is out of balance. If you don't have a properly balanced regimen, the skin can begin to look dull, dehydrated and lifeless and fine lines and wrinkles will appear far more apparent. It's also very common for cystic breakouts and redness to appear more frequently and more severe during high stress times.
